Homework (Introduction) Read P. 23-34 and complete activity 3.1
- Alternative ways to identify components include
- create a chart with 5 columns and add items as you read the case
- use symbols around words as reading circle around processes, square around entity, three sided rectangle around data stores and arrows under data/ informtion flows.
- Common mistakes include adding the person following procedures and an entity. An entity must provide data to system and/ or use information to the system. Usually, cashiers, secretaries, receptionists, etc are NOT entities
- Why do we have a members and activities data store?
- Trade papers, hand out page 36 and check
- They may have an additional data store for loans
- Ask the following questions:
- How did they identify components? - highlighting, chart, symbols?
- What do you put in the Level 0 first?
- Then what do you put in?
- How did you check your LDFFD?

Correct in next class (have individual students put up on board)
